The Cottage Inn Hotel is a few minutes from the spectacular Northumbrian coast. Situated in 6 acres of sheltered woodland gardens we have 10 en-suite ground floor bedrooms. All of our guest bedrooms have been renovated and re-furbished now offering comfortable spacious accommodation. All rooms with colour TV, tea / coffee tray, hair dryer and clock / radio.

The accommodation (including all public rooms) are on one level so handicapped guests are well catered for.

The Bay Horse Inn, standing on the A68, Darlington to Edinburgh road, West Woodburn, is a delightful 18th century coaching Inn built in mellowed sandstone, nestling by a stone bridge over the River Rede in the Cheviot Hills of Northumberland. This is the place to stop on your journey: to rest, drink, eat well and relax in a warm friendly, informal atmosphere.

It is within easy reach of the industrial and commercial centers of the North East. We are 6 miles from Otterburn, 20 miles from Corbridge and just 24 miles from Newcastle Airport. For ramblers, cyclists, horse riders and leisure travelers alike we are in a perfect situation to enjoy the beautiful Cheviot Hill countryside.

Five of the bedrooms are en-suite. The two large bedrooms share a bathroom, which is ideal for families. Please note that these two rooms are above the bar and can be noisy - the price reflects this slight inconvenience. All are decorated individually in a delightful cottage style and have colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryers, ironing facilities and a trouser press.

We have a special room which is ideal for honeymooners or for that special treat for any couple. Sample the luxury of our four poster bedroom - beautifully decorated and comfortable.

The garden stretches down to the river and contains grassed area equipped with garden tables. We have good parking at the Inn, including space for coaches by appointment.

At The Bay Horse Inn our menus offer an unusually wide and extensive range of dishes carefully prepared from the best local meats, fish and vegetables.

Visitors are welcome to choose a tasty snack or to dine in style with a bottle of fine wine. For vegetarians and vegans we can offer an interesting alternative selection. Children have their own menu or may choose selected dishes from the main menus.

When you have been out and about in the fresh country air and, when the excellent home cooked cuisine and cosy surroundings of our lounge bar all begin to take effect, retire to one of our 7 bedrooms.
