The Hoops Inn has been a landmark on the main route from North Devon, via Clovelly, to Cornwall for as long as anyone can remember. In fact there has been a hostelry on this spot, welcoming travelers to this beautiful and remote part of the English countryside since the 13th Century. We are within easy driving distance of Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks, the North Cornwall coast and the cities of Plymouth and Exeter. Close at hand there are hidden coves and small bays to discover, the picturesque and historic towns of Bideford and Barnstaple to visit, the golden sandy beaches of Westward Ho!, Instow and Croyde to relax upon and of course the unique experience that is Clovelly. |

Today, under the stewardship of the new owners Gerry and Dee Goodwin, The Hoops is still a beacon to both locals and visitors wishing to find great food & drink, a warm welcome and stylish accommodation. At The Hoops Inn we have 14 individual rooms ranging from our comfortable standard rooms in the Coach House, or for an unforgettable experience, spend the night, or longer, in one of our suites in a four poster bed under the thatched roof of The Hoops Inn. Perfect for a romantic weekend or just getting away from the hectic pace of everyday life. |
All rooms are en-suite with colour TV, tea / coffee tray, telephone, Internet access, hairdryer, clock / radio and include a full English breakfast. |
| The Hoops Inn has a well deserved reputation for fine food and drink and we are constantly working to develop and even improve on the fare we offer to our customers. We endeavour to use high quality local produce, such as locally reared meat, locally caught fish and locally produced cheese and beer (to name but a few examples) wherever possible, to offer the best that Devon can produce to give our guests a true taste of the Westcountry. |

TO04 It seems likely that the Tower Inn may have begun as the College's guesthouse where alms and hospitality were dispensed. The College is long gone; the Pub endures; today it offers a warm welcome to visitors from all over the world. |

The Royal Oak is a popular place to stay when visiting Dunsford. The central location, 5 miles from Exeter on the B3212, within the village and the excellent food and real ale help to make your stay an enjoyable experience. However, demand is high so getting in touch by phone is more likely to be successful. Recommended by the Dartmoor Tourist Board. The Royal Oak is known locally to have good food and an excellent atmosphere, the menu changes quite frequently. |
