Built in the 19th century, The Marykirk Hotel is a former Coaching Inn situated in the village of Marykirk, which lies between Montrose and Laurencekirk. Dundee and Aberdeen are less than I hours drive away, making it an ideal base to tour the area and also ideally situated for parties wishing to shoot or fish.

The hotel provides comfortable accommodation with a full Scottish breakfast, all rooms are en-suite and include colour TV and tea / coffee making facilities. In addition we offer a fully licensed well stocked bar, guests dining room, restaurant and beer garden.

Our menu is varied and cooked to order many meals featuring local produce such as Aberdeen Angus Beef and Fillet of Scottish Salmon

The Knowes is known and loved both near and far for its warm atmosphere, freshly prepared cuisine and breathtaking views over the Moray Firth coast to the Caithness coastline. It is based in the fishing village of Macduff, in Aberdeenshire, and is a family run hotel with 8 bedrooms.

Situated in an elevated position, on the crown of a hill, so the hotel is secluded from the hustle and bustle, providing a true break away from it all.

A special feature of the hotel is the fantastic viewpoint from which you can observe the resident Moray Firth dolphins swimming across the waters. If you are lucky you can spot up to 60 of them.

Great pride is taken in the preparation and serving of dishes of the highest standard. You can choose from the extensive selection of fish, poultry, game, meat, vegetarian dishes and the speciality is the locally caught fish of the day from Macduff harbour.

The Knowes is an ideal base for fishermen, with the river Deveron providing a visual spectacle, as well as the challenge of Salmon and Sea Trout fishing.

The Royal Tarlair Golf Club in Macduff, a cliff-top parkland course, is the closest of 10 golf courses within a 15 radius. Imaginative use of natural contours creates a scenic delight and is a good test of golfing ability.
