Ian, Sandy and Stuart run the Woodman as a family business and have made the pub something of a local landmark. The Woodman, a 17th century Inn, has many fine features; the first and most noticeable being the well maintained bar, which is warm and friendly, with open fires and plenty of character, serving real ales and other popular drinks. For a weekend away or a longer break, the Woodman Inn can provide you with accommodation including double, twin and single bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. For more information or to book a room, please contact us. The new barn styled restaurant, and function room, offers an a la carte menu and is an excellent meeting place for family, friends and business colleagues. This spacious room is ideal for private parties or your special occasion. |

Since re-opening this derelict Pub in 1992 we have become a benchmark for quality and service in hospitality, beer and food. We use fresh meat, fish and vegetables from local suppliers to produce a wide, varied menu. Ideally placed for all of Hertfordshire, Bedford, Luton, Cambridge and London. There are many nearby historical sites and beautiful walks in the area. A pair of shotguns hangs over the bar, it is said they once belonged to Albert Ebenezer and Ebenezer Albert Fox, the notorious twins who were poachers of note, and who once used the King as an alibi to escape prosecution for poaching. Our comfortable, en-suite, rooms are centrally heated and have TV / radio, ironing, hairdryer and tea / coffee facilities. We have a 3 diamond rating from the AA and the (EETB) tourist board. Personal service is the key to our success, and we advise booking to make sure you receive it. So please feel free to drop in, you will be welcome ! |
