Only 14 miles from Taunton, and the M5, but a million miles from the stresses of modern life. Situated high in the beautiful Brendon Hills in the Exmoor National Park, the Inn has stunning views across Exmoor Down to the Bristol Channel, and on a clear day, to Wales.

If you are planning a wedding or party, our function room will seat up to 180 guests comfortably, or for a more intimate dinner party the conservatory will seat 25 diners.

Meals are served in the bar or in the Coachmans Restaurant, a family dining area is also available. As well as our daily specials board we also boast an extensive menu of freshly prepared starters and a wide choice of main courses, including our popular Farmer's Carvery.

Directions : From J25 of the M5 follow the signs to Minehead (A358). Approx 1 mile after the sign for Bishops Lydeard, turn left along the B3224 for 8 miles, the Hotel is on the left, very much on its own.

Once an old coaching house, The Rest and Be Thankful, with a reputation for good home-cooked food, real ales, wines and local cider for you to try. You can relax with a drink and enjoy a light snack or bar meal in front of a log fire, the Sunday lunchtime carvery is always popular.

Our five bedrooms are all en-suite with tea / coffee facilities, mini bar, colour TV, telephone, hairdryer, trouser press, towels and bath robes. There are three double rooms, one twin, and one family room. Some of the bedrooms have views to Dunkery Beacon - the highest point in Somerset.

Situated in The Quantock Hills, England's first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Carew Arms has been the centre of village life in Crowcombe for over 400 years.

Originally known as The Three Lions, the Pub owes its name and signboard to the Carew family who became lords of the manor in the reign of Queen Elizabeth I.

Crowcombe is a quiet un-spoilt medieval village on the western side of the Quantock Hills in West Somerset. It is easy to access being just off the A358 Taunton-Minehead road. Taunton, the County Town of Somerset, is about 8 miles east. Here you will find a number of interesting museums. The town is also home to the County Cricket Team.

Some of the nearby places of interest are : Exmoor National Park 15 minutes - Dunkery and Selworthy Beacon - Dunster Castle and Mill (National Trust) - Knightshays Court (National Trust) - Coleridge Cottage (National Trust) - Combe Sydenham Hall - Exeter and Wells Cathedral - West Somerset Steam Railway.

The accommodation comprises of en-suite rooms, both double / twin and single, all have TV, tea and coffee making facilities, with a full English breakfast included. A stay of 3 nights or more attracts a 10% discount. A child / extra bed in room is charged at £12.00 per night including breakfast. Dogs are welcome provided they are well behaved and house trained !!
